Traditional
Chinese Medicine uses a method of acupressure known as cupping to treat
disease and relieve pain. Similar techniques are also found in Greek,
Mexican, Balkan, and Eastern European Jewish folk remedies. Glass, plastic,
or bamboo cups are placed on the skin and heated to create a vacuum, bringing
blood to the layer just below the skin. When you remove the cupping, there
will be a round bruise. The color of bruise changes and disappears as
time goes by: from red, to blue, to yellow. This mark becomes the jewelry. |
